Indie game developer Almost Human Ltd. has released new footage and screenshots unveiling the beta version of their upcoming dungeon crawling game, Legend of Grimrock . "By reaching beta, the game now includes all game features, enemies and levels present in the final game. We can now concentrate fully on polishing every aspect of the game until everything is perfect" said Petri Häkkinen of the Almost Human team.
The beta video reveals new features developed since the previous pre-alpha footage: potion mixing system, automatic pick up for missile weapons, character generation, a new kind of dungeon environment and many new enemies, spells and items.
In Legend of Grimrock the player is a prisoner wrongly sentenced to death for vile crimes and exiled to the secluded Mount Grimrock. His mission is to form a team and escape by descending through the mountain, level by level. During the journey the player encounters mysterious puzzles, deadly traps, ancient tombs and horrible monsters left behind by crumbled civilizations long perished now.
Legend of Grimrock will be released as a digital download in early 2012 for PC, followed by Mac and iOS versions later in the year.
