Namco Badai AI Games today announced the launch of Namco arcade, an app that promises to bring all the excitement of a 1980s arcade to your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Namco Arcade includes four titles which are; Xevious , the vertically-scrolling shooter title that challenges players to shoot down waves of aliens while bombing ground targets, The Tower of Druaga , a maze-based adventure game where players take on the role of hero Gilgamesh as he attempts to rescue the maiden Ki from the clutches of the demon Druaga, Motos which challenges players to use the titular bumper care to bump enemies into pits and Phozon, a puzzle game that requires players to collect different colored atoms in an attempt to recreate the molecular shape seen in the center of the screen. Additional titles are also slated for future release.

Players can choose one title and play for free once per day, polishing their skills at the same game every day or getting a taste of each title by choosing a new one each day. Following this free session, players then either have the option of purchasing packs of 10 “Play Coins” for $0.99 per pack or purchasing a game machine outright (At between $1.99 and $4.99) for unlimited play. Once a machine is purchased, the player can also purchase additional cheat codes for the games, priced at $0.99 per cheat code.

For the players who have game techniques burned into their reflexes Namco offers online rankings to compete with rivals from around the globe. Competition titles change each week, so players can aim for the top in both games they know well and also try their hands at new titles. Furthermore Play data can be uploaded, so players can see the surprising skills of others around the world and find tricks and strategies that they can use for themselves.
