Armored Core V, which promises to bring the most intense and strategic mech battles yet to the series, will be released on March 20 in North America and on March 23 in Europe for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Namco Bandai has announced.
“Gamers have been eagerly anticipating the release of Armored Core V, which will bring strategic mech combat to new heights,” said Eiichi Nakajima, studio head, FromSoftware, Inc. “With cooperative missions, a persistent online world battling for territories and epic team battles, Armored Core V, is the complete action shooter package.”
Developed by FromSoftware, Armored Core V lets players step into the cockpit of an Armored Core, a powerful battle mech that they can customize with with countless unlockable parts to create their own personal weapons of mass destruction. The game promises to revolutionise the series with massive online multiplayer battles designed around huge team-based skirmishes on a grand scale. There will also be an all-new Operator Mode, which sees one player as leader, supplying his teammates with enemy positions, movements, and other details.
Those who pre-order the game through its website get access to the Heavy Assault Pack, which contains additional weapons and parts that will help give players "a competitive advantage" in the game's multiplayer on launch day.
