In an interview with Valves Chet Faliszek, the German Playstation blog tells us about the fact that Portal 2 for the Playstation 3 will get support for the Playstation Move controller. Next to this, PS3 Portal 2 owners will also get a free PC/Mac version.
"We should have made the PS3 version of the Orange Box back in 2007 ourselves, instead of giving it to an external team from EA. Their job wasn't bad at all, but the quality level of Valve was missing. To make sure this does not happen again, we started a console department here at Valve", says Chet.
As mentioned before, Valve will also integrate Steam and SteamWorks support in the Portal 2 version for the Playstation 3 that will include the ability to co-op between PS3, PC and Mac (including Steamfriends chat) plus allows you to save your save games on the PS3 and continue playing on the PC or Mac, through Steam Cloud.
I think it's going to be an exciting experiment. If memory serves, this is the very first action game to offer cross-platform online play, albeit in a reduced, two-player only fashion. I can't wait to prove my superiority to any dildo-wielding PS3 user out there.
It's gonne be interesting to see how this co-op gameplay will work between PS3 and PC/Mac.
