Hydrophobia Prophecy - Coming to Steam

Written by Ben, 10 May 2011

As we (and the rest of the industry could have) predicted, British developer Dark Energy Digital Ltd is bringing its latest indie title - Hydrophobia: Prophecy - to Valve's digital Steam store. The release will complement the developer's own "Darknet" feedback system.

Dark Energy Digital is pleased to announce the availability of Hydrophobia Prophecy for Steam at 6pm GMT across the UK and 10am PST in North America. Available to pre-order until that time at a discounted price of GBP £7.63 / USD $10.19, Hydrophobia Prophecy makes its debut on Steam with a raft of new features, including upgraded graphics, brand new gameplay mechanics, exclusive new levels, a reworked back story, a dramatic new ending, recast voice acting and much, much more.

Dark Energy also marks the release of Hydrophobia Prophecy with the roll-out of Darknet; a real time feedback system, and a direct line of communication between developer and consumer. Darknet allows players to deliver specific opinions at any point during the game, which are automatically augmented with contextual data about the game state at that time.

Critical reaction to Hydrophobia Prophecy has already paid dividends on the support given to consumers through the Hydrophobia Listening post, with The Sixth Axis awarding the game an 8/10 score:

"A great third person action game with some truly innovative technological advances, and production values to match most disc releases, for an almost unbelievable price."
