As of today gamers are now able to connect their Steam and Facebook profiles together. This new Steam feature allows gamers all over the world to see which of their friends are on Steam and are than able to add them directly in Steam to play games together or just have a chat.
As the Steam Community now says:
Linking your account from an external site to Steam allows you to find friends or display information about yourself from that network.
It looks like right now this is only possible with Facebook but it is to be expected that soon other social media platforms will follow aswell.
To activate Facebook on your Steam profile:
Go to steamcommunity.com or click
here
Login with your Steam user account and password
Click EDIT MY PROFILE (on the right side)
At the bottom of the screen, click the Facebook button
That's it, you're done
