EA today announced that Battlefield 3: Aftershock, a new free iOS version of the award-winning Battlefield franchise, has just been released for iPhone and iPad.
Acting as a “cross-promotional” release for Battlefield 3 and the feature film Act of Valor (the game features regular ads for the movie), Battlefield 3: Aftershock, is currently only available to play in multiplayer modes. The game doesn't quite live up to the franchise's legacy as there’s just one map to show your skills and five weapons to choose from, one of which you must unlock by watching the trailer for Act of Valor. There is no word from EA for future updates or in game purchases.
Battlefield 3: Aftershock is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later.
