Unknown Worlds releases new gameplay trailer for upcoming indie FPS/RTS Natural Selection 2

Indie developer Unknown Worlds has announced  that the latest development build for their upcoming RTS/FPS Natural Selection 2, codenamed ‘Gorilla’ , which brings the gorilla-like evolution for the alien team, the Onos, and the marines’ jetpack accessory.

These additions, along with a brand new map, “Mineshaft,” are just some of the over 100 new features, balances, and tweaks for this build, which is now available to all pre-order customers. Furthermore the developer released a genuinely impressive gameplay-footage trailer that shows just how far this project has come.

Natural Selection 2 is the sequel to Natural Selection, which was a mod for Half-life and released in 2002. NS2 is written on Unknown Worlds' custom engine called “Spark” and ships with all the tools and game code used in the game. The game is an immersive, multiplayer shooter that pits aliens against humans in a strategic and action-packed struggle for survival. The game is under very active development and Unknown Worlds releases updates nearly every week with new units, abilities, maps, improvements, etc.

According to Unknown Worlds there are over 30,000 players in the current beta testing and they will release v1.0 of Natural Selection 2 to the public this summer. Natural Selection 2 is available to pre-order for $34.95, and its purchase gives you immediate beta access on Steam.
