GameConnect's websites are public, and therefore, in the interest of civil and polite conversation, we have to ask you to abide by the following rules:

1. Moderation - Moderators and Administrators are users who have been entrusted with the Sacred and Ancient GameConnect Powers of Kicking Butt. Their word will be final in any out of hand discussion, dispute or fight, and any abuse of a Moderator's precious time will be dealt with terminally.
   Should any Moderator or Administrator behave in ways that you believe betray the trust placed in them, first try reasoning with them, and if that fails report the accident to another moderator in a private message - do not start staff dissing posts or flame wars, as any such thread will result in immediate banning of your account(s), regardless of how grievous an offence you believe you suffered.
2. Copyright - Respect copyrighted material, and only post it with the author's express permission. Discussing 'warez', pirated material, serial numbers or any such copyright infringing activity, will result in an immediate closing of the thread, and a stern warning to the offender. While GameConnect fully supports freedom of speech, we're not going to let any l337 d00dz spoil the party for the rest of us.
3. Unsolicited Commercial Messages - Posts that do nothing but advertise commercial products, websites or services will be closed and deleted upon verification with the post's author - you will always get a chance to defend your post, though make sure that in doing so you don't waste the Moderator's time - refer to rule 1.
4. Hacking - Impersonating other users by hacking into their accounts, hacking the forums, or changing the board code in any way without explicit consent from one of the Administrators, will result in an immediate termination of your account(s), and a team of GameConnect enforcers at your door, to bash your stupid skulls in.
5. Off-Topic - The beauty of free discussion is that it can lead anywhere, from anywhere. As such, there will be no special penalty for off-topic discussion in a post, unless you're really annoying, or you purposefully hijack threads for your own purposes - that will result in warnings and eventual bans
6. Bans - If your account is banned, think real hard on how it may have happened, and write a polite message to your Moderator or Administrator of choice. We'll laugh about it, and force you to send us humiliating pictures, but you'll be allowed back in eventually.
7. Play Nice - profanity, flame wars and gratuitous insults will be rewarded with warnings, bans and account deletions, on first offence if you manage to make it bad enough. Go on, try us.
8. Questionable Content - this is ripped straigh off another forum we liked. It means that since we can't make a rule for every single infraction that you can come up with, we're going to use this one to smack down on anything that really bothers us, be it behaviours, contents, signatures, or nicknames. No, it's not fair, but fortunately for you, neither is life. Bear in mind that any infraction that comes under this header will be discussed with the offending poster in private first, which means it's not going to come out of the blue, and you'll have a chance to defend your posts.
9. Have Fun! - Capital punishment if you break this one, on first offence.
