Elite Systems, one of Europe’s most long established developers and publishers, has today announced that Ashton Eaton’s Decathlon 2012, a sports game based on the original ZX Spectrum Daley Thompson’s Decathlon from 1984, is now available for download as a universal app on iOS devices.

Ashton Eaton’s Decathlon 2012 is named after Ashton James Eaton, an American decathlete who holds the World Record in both the decathlon and heptathlon events. The game features the familiar “button-bashing” play controls, combined with bespoke touch-screen inputs specifically designed for each individual event, the option of competing in each of the 10 events individually, or collectively as a decathlon, 3 player-selectable game-difficulty levels; “easy”, “medium” and “hard”, and local high scores, both for the decathlon and for each of the 10 individual events.

Commenting upon the launch Elite’s MD Steve Wilcox said, “Ashton’s quest for gold begins on Wednesday in London but it’s already started on the iTunes App Store, where Asshton Eaton’s Decathlon 2012 can now be found.”

Those interested can purchase Ashton Eaton’s Decathlon 2012 from the App Store for the iPhone / iPad for £0.69/€0.79/US$0.99.
