Independent developer Dennaton Games and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that the award-winning Hotline Miami, a game that combines the aesthetics of Vice City, the violence you’ll find in Tarantino directed films, the top down view of Alien Breed, retro pixelated graphics and probably the best electronic music you heard in recent memory, will arrive on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita this coming spring.

“Our team have been fans of Hotline Miami from the very start and we are absolutely thrilled to have such a brilliant game launch on the PlayStation platform,” said Shahid Ahmad, Senior Business Development Manager, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). “The intense visuals and pulsing soundtrack are perfectly suited for PS3 and PS VIta and we can’t wait for PlayStation fans to see what Hotline Miami is all about.”

Hotline Miami is a game that will test your skills but first and foremost your nerves and your tolerance with violence. It’s amazing how Dennaton managed to make 16 bit graphics look so sadistic. The game has no morality and doesn’t make a single attempt to hide it.

Levels are fun to play no matter how many times you die. You can die upwards of 50 times, yet just kept resetting to play. With gameplay this tight, flowing between stealth and combat with split-second tactical choices reinforced through trial-and-error, it’s hard to want to walk away. Sure its is difficult like old games, but not unfair like old, bad games,” we wrote on our review of the game.

To date Hotline Miami has gone on to sell over 300,000 units on PC. You can grab it from Steam, GOG, Gamersgate, and Getgames.
