Team17 Digital Limited have today announced that Alien Breed, the classic top-down shooter that was released in 1991 for the Commodore Amiga and later in 1993 by MicroLeague for MS-DOS will be will be available for download on the PS3 via the EU PlayStation Network in February 6th an in the US PSN on February 12th.
Alien Breed retains the challenging gameplay of the original while offering players aid in the form of an in-game store for extra ammo, keys and weapons, 6 original Alien Breed (1991) levels, 12 Alien Breed Special Edition (1992) levels, three entirely new level packs , and the ability to play either with old-school Amiga graphics or new enhanced graphics.
Players will able to team up on either PS3 or PlayStation Vita via cross-platform play while there will also be ad-hoc and online co-op multiplayer for PlayStation Vita and local and online co-op multiplayer for PlayStation 3.
Alien Breed will be available to purchase for just £6.49/€7.99/$9.99, with a 20% launch discount available for PlayStation Plus members Alien Breed is also available as a universal app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for $0.99.
