Foam Sword has announced their new game, Knights and Bikes. The game is a co-op action adventure set in a beautifully hand painted 3D world, inspired by The Goonies, Earthbound and childhoods. The game takes place on Penfurzy Island, off the coast of Cornwall, a place of medieval legend, and modern tourism. The story starts in the 1980s when the island faces fresh challenges that can only be met by the island’s two most overlooked heroes: two young girls.
You play as Nessa and Demelza. Nessa is an outsider from the mainland, who is searching for her family’s past. Inspired by her favourite video game, Demelza is an imaginative local who believes in the island’s legend. Together they explore the island both on foot and on their bikes, searching for treasure, discovering new locations, recruiting new gang members and getting into trouble.
When their investigation awakens the malevolent spirits of history, the girls must use their unique skills, and their bikes, to save the island. They deal with the threat with bike-jousting, Frisbee-throwing, puddle-stomping and whatever other kid-like schemes they can improvise. And with each islander they rescue they learn new abilities to enable them to do more and travel further.
The studio, Foam Sword, is a new game studio consisting of Rex Crowle (Tearaway, LittleBigPlanet, EpicWin) and Moo Yu (Moshi Monsters, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet & Clank).
You can vote for the game on Kickstarter and help the team to get this game out there.
